Description: "Crump's Ornata" is a plant that was acquired by Flytrap King nursery in an estate sale. As such, its back story has been lost to history. It was labeled "flava var. ornata" but we suspect it has hybrid genetics.
"Crump's Ornata" produces large red-veined chartreuse leaves with elegant over-sized lids in the spring. As the growing season progresses, the leaves mature to a beautiful burgundy with dramatic color contrast on top. The plant produces short, curved phylodia in the summer and fall that are reminiscent of oreophila's growth habit.
Care: Plant in full sun to part shade outdoors. Use peat moss and perlite in a very large planter and keep it wet. In a bog garden, use a mixture of peat moss and sand. It loses its leaves in the winter. Cold hardy to 20F in a pot and 0F in the ground.Orders placed from the following states will ship Bare Root: AZ, CA, HI, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, WA
