Sarracenia Red Lip Trumpet Pitcher Plant
Description: Sarracenia "Red Lips" trumpet pitcher is a Jerry Addington seedling of unknown hybrid origin. It has the appearance of a very attractive selection of Sarracenia flava. It has a pronounced red lip early in the spring. Pitchers mature to red. In a grouping of tall red and yellow Sarracenia, this would be an excellent companion to Sarracenia alata "maroon throat" or Sarracenia flava var. rugelii.
Pitcher Plant Care: Plant in full sun to part shade outdoors. Use peat moss in a very large planter and keep it wet. In a bog garden, use a mixture of peat moss and sand. It loses its leaves in the winter. Cold hardy to 20F in a pot and 0F in the ground.
