Description: Sarracenia purpurea has a wide natural range, growing from Canada to Georgia. It also has a wide range in venation and cold hardiness. This attractive chartreuse and red clone has genetics from the Southern-most range. It is less cold-hardy so it will lose some roots if the temperatures drop below 10 F. It is also very well-suited for gardeners in Southern states who struggle to manage the summer temperature of their bog garden! It is petite compared to many S. purpurea clones, growing to about 8" in diameter.
Pitcher Plant Care: Plant in full sun to part shade outdoors. Use peat moss and perlite in a very large planter and keep it wet. It loses its leaves in the winter. Cold hardy to 20F in a pot and 0F in the ground.
All plants will ship bare root, without pots and soil.
