Growing Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants) from seed can be rewarding and fun.   Every seed is genetically distinct and often produces a plant that is visually different from other pitcher plants.  Seed-growing pitcher plants is slow but it is a chance to have a plant that no one else in the world has.  It is also the most economical way to dramatically expand your pitcher plant garden.
