Description: Sarracenia ‘Adrian Slack’ is a stunning hybrid that was found growing wild in North Florida by Bob Hanrahan.
Sarracenia ‘Adrian Slack’ is arguably one of the most popular and best looking pitcher plants available. It is named after a legend in early Sarracenia hybridization, Adrian Slack. This plant has a statuesque appearance, taking its shape from its Sarracenia flava heritage and color from its leucophylla side. The lid is heavily veined with deep red against a mostly white background, supported by a thin spotted column. The well-shaped mouth is red to pink. Strong veining with white areoles extend down the tube, transitioning to green.
Sarracenia ‘Adrian Slack’ produces its largest pitchers in the spring, measuring 2 feet tall with a 2.5 wide mouth. Fall leaves are slightly smaller and equally as beautiful. This plant is incredible in all aspects and has given rise to many sought-after hybrids. S. ‘Legacy’, S. 'Caitrin Claire' and S. ‘Inspiration’ a few examples of spectacular cultivars using S. ‘Adrian Slack’ as a parent. Whether as a wonderful garden plant or as a breeder, S. ‘Adrian Slack’ is in a league of its own.
