S. flava 'Pastel' is unique in that its blushed maroon coloration slowly develops throughout the spring and early summer. Notably, it creates seedlings that have new-to-horticulture pastel color combinations.
The clone of "Bud Wilkerson" x "Wilkerson's White Knight" we used in this cross is temporarily nicknamed c3. It is very slow growing, but has spectacular coloration in the fall and a really attractive short, wide hood column.
