Sarracenia "Kew Gardens" pitcher plant is a fast-growing medium height hybrid of unknown ancestry.  It is the darkest pitcher plant we have ever seen, even darker than the Sarracenia purpurea or Sarracenia alata nigrapururea. The leaves emerge maroon.  By late fall, the mature leaves are nearly black.  The undulating lids are reminiscent of rubra with heavy venation throughout.  Leaves are usually 18 inches tall with 2.5 inch wide hoods.  Its thick stand of black leaves will stand out in any collection.

The flava var atropurpurea clone we used to make these seeds is our #1 breeder.  It's big, beautiful and a moderately fast grower.

Expect very dark color seedlings with some range in shape.  We have produced exceedingly dark seedlings from crosses involving "Kew". Don't miss the opportunity to blast your garden with intense burgundy!

Each packet contains approximately 25 seeds.
